  • GEAR - Group for enviornmental awareness in rhondda cynon taff, was formed in 1994 by local voulenteers concerned about the environment in the rhondda valleys. as a voulantry group we work together on local projects that improve our environment. GEAR ams to hihglight the importance of 'green lungs' and having areas to complient the built enviornment. we aim to integrate the natural ecology and environment and to encourage grater aawareness of the management and development of the natural enviornment.
  • our objectives are to:
  • . improve the local environment for the benefit of all inhabitants in RCT
  • .promote and develop a public awareness of our shared responsibility for our environment
  • . empower local people to take action to protcet and enhance the environment
  • . encourage people to always think about recycling to protect their local environment
  • . develop and maintain links with other environmental organisations
  • . foster close releshionships with statutory agencies and contribute to the overall environment policy in the area
