Youth Timebank Project |

A small group of young people have been working with staff from Maerdy Communities First and RCT Youth Prevention Team to undertake community activities.
To date they have been painting and refurbishing Maerdy Football Pavillion which is used 2 evenings per week as a youth drop-in.
As a reward they have undertaken a weekend residential which strengthened their team building skills via challenging sporting activities
The youth group have also identified a number of future community activities they would like to undertake such as litter picks and a river clearance which will enable them to gain credits to undertake Adventure residential and activities of their choice (pending funding)
They are now planning a sponsored walk on 31st July to raise funds for equipment for the youth-drop-in.

- To engage and support young people aged 11yrs+ in positive, educational, challenging and rewarding activities that support them to be empowered and expressive.

Project
Update:
- The youth group have also been involved in keeping a video diary of their progress on the project and aim to produce a dvd soon showing their hard work and effort.
